Privacy Policy — JBR Staffing app
JBR Staffing Solutions Ltd. ("JBR", "we") operates the JBR Staffing mobile app and recruiter console. This policy explains what we collect from workers who use the app, why, and how to reach us. Last updated: 5 November 2026.
What we collect and why
| Information | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Name, email, phone number, date of birth | To create your account, contact you about shifts and meet employment-standards requirements |
| City and travel radius | To show shifts near you and match you with work you can reach |
| Precise location from your phone (while the app is open) | To sort shifts by distance and show "near me" |
| Precise location while you are clocked in to a shift (in the background, until you clock out) | To confirm you are at the venue and to time your shift accurately; sharing stops automatically at clock-out |
| Work permit status and permit number (last 4 digits) | To confirm you are eligible to work in Canada |
| Social Insurance Number | Required by law for payroll and tax slips; stored encrypted, only the last 3 digits are ever shown again |
| Payout details: Interac e-Transfer email, or bank institution, transit and account number | To pay you; account numbers are encrypted and only the last 4 digits are shown again |
| Documents you upload (photo ID, permits, licences, resume) | To verify your identity and qualifications for the roles you choose |
| Shifts claimed, hours worked, ratings, availability | To run your schedule, pay you and plan staffing |
| Device push token | To send you shift, schedule and pay notifications |
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.
Who sees it
- JBR recruiters and payroll staff, on a need-to-know basis. Recruiters see your city, not your exact location, except your clock-in and clock-out positions for a shift you worked.
- The client you are placed with sees your name and the shift details, never your contact details, SIN or banking.
- Service providers that run the app for us: Supabase (database and authentication, hosted in Canada, ca-central-1), Expo (push notifications), Google (maps and address lookup), Combibirds / Meta WhatsApp (sign-in codes), Vercel (recruiter console). Each only processes what is needed for its task.
- Government bodies when the law requires it (for example CRA tax reporting).
How long we keep it
Account and employment records are kept while you work with JBR and for the period required by Canadian and British Columbia employment and tax law (generally seven years after your last pay). Location history while clocked in is kept for 30 days. Sign-in codes expire after 5 minutes.
Your choices and rights
- Location: you can turn location permission off in your phone's settings at any time. Shifts are then sorted from the centre of your city, and clock-in may ask you to confirm you are on site in another way.
- Notifications: turn them off in Profile → Settings or in your phone's settings.
- Access and correction: you can see and edit your details under Profile. For anything else, email us.
- Deletion: Profile → Settings → Delete account removes your account and personal data, except records we must keep by law. See the "Delete your account" page for details.
This policy follows the Personal Information Protection Act (British Columbia) and PIPEDA. You may complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia if you are unhappy with how we handled your information.
